On the first weekday of the month, my friend and I will go to the grocery store. I have her loyalty card which I use to get any discounts on the groceries, and in return, she benefits with points going to gas. Since I don’t own an automobile, there is no need for me to have the points. Usually, I go to 2 places in the grocery store. I am usually in the checkout line in about 15 minutes after entering the store. To keep things simple for me, I will acquire microwave meals. Yes, I know – not the healthiest, but standing to cook legitimate meals for just myself is more trouble than good. I do try to get 3 varieties, and when I put them away, I stack them in a way that not 2 meals are the same. This helps with some variety in my choices. Since I get my SNAP? benefits in the middle of the month, I always make sure I will have enough SNAP benefits to acquire my meals for the next month.
I will have remaining benefits after my grocery store purchases. With that said, I will spend as I see fit until the 12th of the month when I will budget my SNAP benefits for next month. I always want to make sure I have enough remaining to cover for my regular grocery shopping.
